This project was a collaborative effort between the AMRV and Snead State Community College. Funds from both entities were put together to pay for the construction of a greenhouse on the campus of Snead State. The festival provided a venue for local ukulele clubs (several constituted solely by Senior Citizens) and individuals to perform their ukulele skills in a supportive atmosphere. The event also provided over four hours of educational presentations for attendees of all ages to develop their individual musical skills. Lawrence Commission on Aging serves many of Lawrence County’s home-bound elderly citizens, who often have no one to prepare them a hot meal.
