Water Festivals educate elementary students (primarily 4th graders) about the importance of water resources and water quality through fun and educational festivals which include hands-on activities, education from a variety of "water" professionals, and an entertaining show (like Eco-Magician Steve Trash).

2023 Madison County Drinking Water Festival

May 4th & 5th, 2023 at UAH

The 2023 Madison County Drinking Water Festival will educate Madison County 4th grade students about surface and ground water through hands-on activities and a very engaging eco-entertainment show featuring illusionist Steve Trash!

Students will learn where drinking water comes from, how to protect it, and how water is linked to forests, wetlands, wildlife, and more!

Enter your (student) drawing into our t-shirt logo contest. The winning student’s logo will appear on the 2023 Madison County Drinking Water Festival t-shirt (given to over 1600 people!), and the winning student’s teacher will receive a $50 gift card.

Water Festival Educational Videos

(from 2022 Virtual Festival)

For 2022, Madison County's Drinking Water Festival went virtual with a variety of educational videos. Teachers can now access and use these videos freely use in their classroom. Educational videos include watersheds, water filtration, wetlands, and the "well-in-a-cup" activity.
