The addition of our Bicentennial Park is a project that ensures the preservation of Mooresville’s history for future generations and more importantly an opportunity to share this history. Before the Park, most daily visitors just got to walk our tree-shaded streets and peek through the picket fences in wonder; but now this Park is a place where visitors can belong, unwind, and experience Mooresville’s tranquility. It has become an experience and environment created in keeping with historic landscapes and native Alabama plants with a special emphasis of perennial flowers to support pollinators. The 100+ year-old pickets from The Brick Church were restored and provide a visual backdrop. The footprint of The Brick church is recreated in the brick hardscape of the garden’s plan. The town’s heritage and history is shared through the 4 educational signs located at each corner of the brick path.
