Decatur Dog Park

Funding provided from AMRV RC&D to support the construction of the new Decatur Dog Park has filled a recreational gap for residents and visitors of North Alabama. Before funding for this project was realized, no legal recreational opportunities existed for residents and visitors in the Decatur area to allow their pets off-leash in public areas. This was a major obstacle for pet-owners in rental housing. Because of the funding provided by the AMRV organization, area pet owners can enjoy bonding with their pets as well as like-minded individuals at a quality dog park. This new park has inevitably delivered a greater sense of community, enhanced recreation opportunity, preservation of the natural environment, and better quality of life to North Alabama, for which both the City of Decatur and its residents and visitors are grateful to AMRV RC&D.
