This year, the Ardmore 4-H Naturalist Studies program involved students in citizen science initiatives, community service projects and promoted a positive conservation ethic. This partnership of 4-H and Ardmore combined field study, hands-on activities and classroom learning. Students achieved multiple certifications and career exposure while learning outdoor skills and gaining the tools to live a healthier lifestyle. Read more...

This project has, and, will continue to teach youth and adults alike about the importance of environmental and wildlife stewardship. Youth learn responsible wildlife management practices and environmental stewardship concepts. I have been so proud to watch this group of students contribute to the community, build problem-solving skills and identify career paths. We have been able to complete phase one of this project, which included creating the garden area and begin planting crops to teach our students about gardening, the value of healthy eating and self-reliance, and also giving back with service learning. Because our school has recently been split from Tanner High School, a new entrance to the elementary school was created. However, at that entrance, there was no flag pole, no landscaping of any kind, and no signage.
