Through the generosity of the Alabama Mountains, Rivers, and Valleys Resource Conservation and Development Council the Danville High School campus has been able to initiate the second phase of construction of a new recreational area. Students, athletes, and community members will now be able to enjoy a new recreational area. The area will be continuously improved over the next three to five years. The area received 183 loads of dirt to raise the existing elevation and improve the overall drainage of the site.
Through collaboration with the Morgan County Commission we were able to raise the elevation and improve drainage to the existing surface of the new recreational area. Physical education classes, school athletic teams, community athletic teams, and general school and community activities will now have a new recreational area at their disposal. It is my pleasure to let all community and school members know that this project was made possible by the generous grant through AMRVRC&D. Thank you so much for your grant, time, and sacrifices associated with this project for Danville High School.
Thank You,
Brian Ellis
