Because our school has recently been split from Tanner High School, a new entrance to the elementary school was created. However, at that entrance, there was no flag pole, no landscaping of any kind, and no signage. We were able to get a sign donated by our partner in education, and able to purchase the flagpole and landscaping via the RC&D Council. We have 5th graders who are now raise and lower the flags every day, creating more of a sense of pride in our school, community, and country. Our school recites the “Pledge of Allegiance” every morning in unison and our students have not only gained a sense of honor and respect for the flags, but also for our little school and community!
