The funding provided for our project was used to buy new climbing systems for instruction of Single Rope Technique (SRT), and Cave Rescue classes. Before the project, there were not enough climbing systems for all the students in the classes. By adding these systems, there are enough systems for each student in SRT classes and in the cave rescue class. The new computer allows for improved instruction during classroom lectures since the modern processors allow quicker and more efficient processing of presentations. The printer allows more flexibility in providing classroom materials. The printer will also be helpful during actual rescue incidents allowing printing of incident paperwork, scanning information for storage and dissemination, and making copies for rescue crews. All this equipment will especially benefit the community in two ways: 1) Climbers learning to safely climb and rappel in the cave environment, preventing accidents, 2) Instruction of rescue personnel (fire departments and rescue squads) in cave rescue operations and techniques.
