The Bob Jones Community Center is vital to Woodville residents. It is used by many groups and individuals for meetings, educational programs, senior citizen programs, community events and private events. This project helped to better equip our members with the necessary PPE (Personnel Protective Equipment). This summer, while many kids were celebrating being out of school, 10 students participated in an Educational Camp at Big Springs Ecological Site near Lake Guntersville. The Bat conservation project made a difference in our community by helping 12 high school students use hand and power tool skills learned in their Agriculture Class. This project allowed us to meet the American Disabilities Act and made the surroundings much more accessible for those with physical limitations, such as walkers and wheelchairs. The total area has been leveled, filled in, paved, and designated parking for handicapped persons is now available. Our students and community volunteers created an Eastern Box Turtle Habitat and a worm bin. We also added educational signage to help our students learn about the plants and wildlife habitats in our outdoor classroom. These projects were needed to update our existing outdoor classroom.
